Local Meteorologist
We studied natural disasters in our classroom, so I thought it would be a wonderful idea to invite a local meteorologist, Brian Peters from abc3340 to talk to my students about natural disasters, and he was honored to come to our school. I invited the entire 3rd grade so they could experience this wonderful opportunity. He discussed with the students how natural disasters were formed, he explained where they mostly occur, in what season they mostly occur in, and he also talked about survival plans. He also told the students about his experiences of actually being in these storms. The students were amazed. They had a wonderful time and learned so much. The next day, the students went on our blog and answered an open-ended questioned about our guest. You can read those at http://sites.epals.com/hill3rd/
